Parent Council school closures update

Good evening all,

As you will have heard on the news and via email from Mrs Gowans yesterday, Scotland are closing all schools and nurseries from this Friday at noon.  Please remember to collect your children's home learning packs from the office tomorrow, P1-P2 from 12pm and P3-P7 12:30pm-3pm.

Sadly the closure of school for now means that our planned Food Get Together and Summer Fair will have to be postponed until next year and there will be no more Parent Council meetings (unless we can work out a Virtual one) until our Annual General Meeting in the new school year.

All I can advise is to keep an eye on the news, the Council website and your emails for updates from the school.  I will continue to liaise with Mrs Gowans and post any updates as I receive them onto our public Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/pg/BroughtonPrimarySchoolParentForum

For our P7 parents: you should have received an email this afternoon with an update on discussions had with your children today.  Please make the sensible decision about the P7 parties that you have got booked for this June.  It may be more sensible and safer to hold off until early August when the Coronavirus has calmed down and things are opening back up again.

For home learning: this email went out this afternoon, all weekly work sessions will be updated on the Class lists on the school website https://broughtonprimary.org/class-information/ from next week, along with teacher email addresses so that you can keep in touch if problems arise.  There are a lot of links being shared on our Facebook page and within our private Facebook group of parents.

For the children who are feeling anxious about what is happening - this link to Youth Scot is a good one to talk through with your children https://young.scot/campaigns/national/coronavirus?fbclid=IwAR1qXQTpdsGoYskqNwcCsDNRbNG9Mbm83k-GnVbtpmwR9E8oZUkpkUTVDQ0
